Many of you have probably heard about or considered material donations (blankets, foodstuff, medicine etc). We spoke to the Red Cross and the Turkish Embassy about this. Right now there is no reliable system in Turkey to facilitate the transfer of such goods to the victims. Red Cross specifically encourages monetary donations and says the supplies needed can be bought locally by the Red Crescent in Turkey. Obviously, this will have the added benefit of helping the local economy.
How Sponsors Help?
For those of you who eagerly want to help Turkish people but cannot afford donations, there is the opportunity of visiting sponsor sites. Their advertisements will be displayed on this page. The amount of visitors sent to those sites through their advertisements on this page will be displayed on a new pop up window in realtime as well. This is serious. If any checks from the advertisement companies are received, we will put the scanned images of both those checks, and the proof of 100% donation made to the relevant association or transfered to an above mentioned bank account.
The following sponsors help people by donating a predetermined amount of money when a visitor goes to their site through their advertisement on this page:
MSN Home Advisor
eAds Electronic Advertising
Each visitor will be counted only
once (according to the IP address of the computer they use), therefore
multiple visits from a single person will be considered as a single visit.
However, we count each visit without controlling whether it is from the
same visitor or not. The number of actual visitors may be lower than the
number displayed on our visitor count page. In addition, if you are behind
a proxy server, your IP address will be similar to the IP address of the
proxy server.
We are receiving some questions
about finding sponsors. You might have a similar site for the same purpose.
Here is how you can find a sponsor
